Bradbonanno.com is operated by Solaris Automation (Brad Bonanno), referred to in this policy as “we”, “us” or “our”. This policy explains how personal information is handled on this site under applicable privacy law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.
Important service-provider disclosure
We use Kit to manage the newsletter and member records, and Secret to provide software offers. Subscriber data, primarily your email address and related opt-in records, may be shared with both providers as explained in section 4.
1. Personal information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Your email address when you subscribe, unlock a free perk or verify member access.
- Your newsletter subscription status, consent and double opt-in records, Buildshop membership tags and member access code.
- Information you send when you contact us or reply to an email.
- Technical and usage information, such as your IP address, IP-derived country, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, referring page, request times and errors.
- Perk activity, such as the offer selected, access tier and whether a redemption redirects to another provider.
Your email address is required if you choose to subscribe or claim a subscriber perk. Your purchase email and member code are required if you choose to unlock a member perk. Without those details, we cannot provide the corresponding service. We do not process payments directly on bradbonanno.com.
2. How we collect information
We collect information directly from you when you enter an email address, verify member access or contact us. We also collect limited technical and usage information automatically through hosting infrastructure, analytics, browser storage and security controls.
3. How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- Send the newsletter and related communications you requested.
- Confirm subscription or Buildshop membership and provide the correct perks tier.
- Generate, store and verify member access codes.
- Activate or facilitate redemption of software offers.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the site.
- Measure aggregate site and perk usage.
- Respond to enquiries and comply with legal obligations.
Where required, we rely on your consent to send newsletter, deal and update emails. We also process information where necessary to provide a service you requested, protect and operate the site, comply with law or pursue our legitimate business interests without overriding your privacy rights.
4. Who we share information with
We disclose information only where reasonably necessary to operate the site, deliver the newsletter and perks, protect the service or comply with law. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Kit, Inc. (kit.com)
Kit is our email and subscriber-management provider. We share your email address with Kit when you subscribe or unlock subscriber perks. Kit may also process your subscription status, membership tags and the member code stored on your subscriber record. We use this information to deliver emails, manage consent and verify access. Kit processes newsletter subscriber information on our behalf under its applicable data-processing terms. You can read Kit’s privacy information.
Secret / Tech Lab SAS (joinsecret.com)
Secret is operated by Tech Lab SAS, 1 rue de Stockholm, 75008 Paris, France. Under our creator partnership, Solaris Automation is the controller of subscriber data and Secret processes that data on our behalf. We may share your email address, consent and opt-in records, member or invitation-code status, selected deal, activation or redemption information, country and eligibility information with Secret so it can provide and operate the perks service.
Depending on the service configuration and deal, Secret may support the deal catalogue, email capture, double opt-in verification, deal or update emails, partner reporting, invitation-code access and deal redemption. Secret is contractually required to process subscriber data on our instructions rather than for its own purposes, and to assist us with privacy requests. It retains timestamped double opt-in records as evidence of subscription.
Some offers redirect you to Secret’s website or a software vendor and may ask eligibility questions or require an account. Information you provide directly on those services, together with technical and account information generated through your visit, is handled under the receiving service’s privacy policy. You can read Secret’s privacy policy.
Secret may earn affiliate commissions when someone obtains a software product through certain offers.
Website infrastructure
- Vercel hosts the site and provides web analytics. It may process request, device, usage, approximate location and IP information as part of hosting, security and analytics.
- Upstash may process IP-based rate-limit identifiers when its Redis service is enabled, helping us prevent abuse of the perk and member-code endpoints.
- Government, regulatory, law-enforcement or professional advisers may receive information where required or permitted by law.
5. Browser storage and analytics
The site uses browser local storage to remember the subscriber email and, after successful member verification, the member email and code on that device. This prevents you from having to enter the same details for every perk. You can remove this information by clearing site data in your browser.
We use Vercel Web Analytics and custom events to understand aggregate activity such as newsletter sign-ups, perk clicks, access-tier use and successful reveals. We do not include your email address or member code in those custom analytics events.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some service providers operate or store information outside Australia. This includes Secret in France and providers such as Kit, Vercel and Upstash in the United States, with infrastructure that may operate in other countries. Their processing locations may change. Overseas processing is handled subject to applicable privacy obligations.
7. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the newsletter or member benefits, demonstrating consent, resolving disputes and meeting legal obligations. Subscriber records remain in Kit until they are deleted or no longer required. Secret retains timestamped double opt-in records while providing the creator service and, when that service ends, returns or deletes subscriber data according to our instructions and applicable retention obligations. Information stored locally in your browser remains until you clear it or the site removes it.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Measures used on this site include encrypted connections, restricted administrative credentials, origin checks, access-code verification and rate limiting. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Access, correction and deletion
You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. You can unsubscribe from marketing, deal and update emails at any time using the link in an email. Kit or Secret may assist us where a request concerns information they process on our behalf. Deleting a subscriber or membership record may prevent us from continuing to provide newsletter or member-only benefits.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to withdraw consent, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy of certain information, or complain to the privacy or data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.
10. Third-party sites
The site links to Secret, software vendors, the Buildshop, YouTube and other third-party services. Their privacy policies govern information they collect directly from you. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The revised policy takes effect when published here, and the “Last updated” date will be changed.
12. Contact us
